Score formula

Final score = ((Perfect × 100) + (Good × 30) + (Off-beat × 5) − (Miss × 50)) × Combo Multiplier

Combo Multiplier is live and scales with consecutive on-beat hits. It resets on any Miss judgement.

Combo Multiplier scaling

S-rank route

  1. Open the fight in Free Play → Practice → Sectional Loop. Drill the phase where your Perfect rate sits below 70%.
  2. Equip Tempo Window (Hemlock drop) for any 180+ BPM Idol.
  3. Turn off Auto-Combo. The 75% damage cap holds the Combo Multiplier under 3.0x.
  4. Bank ≥1 Special into the final phase. Specials never break combo and protect against Miss.
  5. Watch the live S-rank gauge in the HUD — drop a tier and the post-fight letter caps at A.

FAQ

How does scoring work in Dead as Disco?

Final score = (Perfect × 100) + (Good × 30) + Off-beat × 5 − (Miss × 50), all multiplied by the live Combo Multiplier (1.0x to 4.0x). The Combo Multiplier scales with consecutive on-beat hits and resets on Miss.

What is the Combo Multiplier in Dead as Disco?

A live damage and score multiplier shown above the combo counter. It starts at 1.0x and scales up to 4.0x as you keep hits on-beat without a Miss. S-rank requires it to peak at ≥3.0x for at least one full phase.

How do you get S-rank / 5 stars?

Three thresholds at fight end: Combo Meter ≥75–90% (per Idol), Perfect Rate ≥70–75%, Miss count ≤2–4. Per-Idol numbers are tracked on the /challenges/ page.

Does Auto-Combo affect score?

Yes. Auto-Combo caps per-hit damage at 75% which lowers the Combo Multiplier ceiling — most veteran S-rank runs play with Auto-Combo off.

Do off-beat hits count for score?

Off-beat hits award 5 points (vs 100 for Perfect) and do not raise the Combo Multiplier. With the Off-Beat Bonus accessory, alternating Perfect on-beat and Perfect off-beat raises the multiplier instead.
